My store has been going well but all of a sudden my sales have stopped! I’m getting a lot of traffic from ads and live analytics show somethings in the cart! But no abandonments showing. I’m at my wits end and don’t know if anything needs to change. Shopify have done a test purchase and they say all is fine! Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you for posting in the Shopify Community. Would you mind sharing your store’s URL so we can take a look and provide some tailored suggestions? I’d also like to know whether you made any changes to your marketing strategy recently.
Assess the current state of your website’s load time using online tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, GTmetrix, or WebPageTest. Each tool will give you a comprehensive overview of your website’s speed and provide recommendations on areas to improve.
You can identify factors that can affect customer behavior and prevent the success of your store.
Some of them are:
poor navigation
no CTAs
checkout issues
login for purchase
no customer support
no upfront shipping costs and terms
no customer feedback
non-adaptive design
you let your potential customers bounce with ease
website load speed is too slow
security issues
If you are not a technically aware person yourself, you will need a developer to investigate and fix that.
Hi thank you for the reply, have you had a look at my website, have you identified anything that is wrong? I am getting over 100 + people visiting my site daily, the cart shows somthing is in there and then nothing and no customer, ive checked the cart, check out, everything seems to be ok, shopify say they have checked also, im seriously thinking of giving up
First of all, in order to understand what’s going wrong with your sales at the moment, I offer you to set up some of the website visitor tracking tools - Hotjar, Smartlook or others.
Second, when browsing your store, I noticed a few UX issues that may influence customers’ behavior on your website.
So, check out what is actually going on during checkout. When these questions get some understanding, you can proceed with improving your website in other aspects.
Please, send me a direct message, if you’d like to discuss this further.
Thank you for sending that over. There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with your store in terms of how it functions, but I found a few things that may be causing people to not check out:
Your header mentions “FREE UK Delivery For Orders Over £50”, but when I checked out with more than £50 worth of products and entered a UK address, I was still being charged for shipping. This may be because I had items from the Pet Lovers Gift Collection in my cart, which may have different shipping rates, but that isn’t clear in the header. Additionally, I tried checking out with an address in Spain and the “international” shipping rates are showing, rather than the “EU” rates. Incorrect/inaccurate shipping rates may cause people to not check out on your store. You can read over our help document on shipping to ensure you have everything set up correctly.
I noticed in the screenshot you shared of your analytics that you have some visitors from countries that you don’t ship to, which could explain why those visitors didn’t check out. You don’t have to ship to countries you don’t want to, but that will lead to some lower conversion rates.
You’ve received some great tips from other folks in this thread, but I also wanted to share this video with you on how to increase conversions on your store. In the tutorial, you’ll learn how to optimize your Shopify store to increase the percentage of your website traffic that makes a purchase. I definitely recommend implementing the tips from the video!
I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.
