Why isn't my SSL verification complete after a week?

It’s been over a week now and my SSL still hasn’t been verified. All my settings are set properly, this has been confirmed by my hosting provider. Is there a way to actually contact Shopify because I seem to be going round in circles.

Hi @jamesswift

Thank you for reaching out for help with this domain issue you are experiencing. I understand that you have been in contact with your domain host and they have said your DNS settings are correct. While this may be the case for them, it may not be the case for your Shopify store. I’d like to confirm what DNS information is being propagated at this time. To confirm, you should only have one @ A record in your DNS list and the www CNAME record should be pointing to Shopify like so:

If you are able to share the domain URL with me here, I can confirm what DNS information is being propagated and if it matches. You can also use a third party DNS checker like this one as well: https://dnschecker.org/. If the DNS settings do not match the ones listed above you will need to connect again with your domain host to troubleshoot.

If you still need to reach out to our live support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center - Contact Support, sign into your store account, search for your issue and use the contact support button at the bottom of the search results to see all our live support options.

Feel free to share screenshots of your current DNS information and your domain URL and I’d be happy to continue troubleshooting here as well.

Thanks!

Hi, the domain name is www.allthingschill.co.uk. I’ve checked the DNS myself and all is fine, unless there’s something Im missing.

Hi @jamesswift

Thank you for sharing the URL for your store! I had a look and while I can confirm that your A record is propagated successfully it looks like your WWW CNAME record is not. I was not able to pull what the CNAME record is, but both my internal tools and the free DNS checker are showing that the CNAME is not populating properly.

Are you able to share a screenshot of your DNS setup in your domain? If you are sure that the CNAME and A record match ours I would connect with your domain host and let them know that external tools are unable to see the CNAME record on file. This is something that your domain host would need to resolve with you. I hope this information helped!

These are my current settings.

Thank you for the screenshot!

While each domain host is unique and the information required for your DNS can be different between stores, it does look to me like you have way too many A records (there should be only one) and that you do not have the correct WWW CNAME record setup.

You should only have one A record, and that A record should point to Shopify. If you need additional A records, please feel free to keep them there but to the best of my knowledge a standard setup does not require them.

Your CNAME WWW record should point to shops.myshopify.com and not your store URL. I would try making those changes and see if that resolves your propagation issues.

My CNAME is now showing up on a DNS search, but still no SSL verification…any other ideas?
