Received order but the item is Out of Stock

Hello, I am facing some errors, like

I received an order for an item that’s out of stock.
I updated stock to 0. After a day I again received an order for that item. Because the stock is automatically restored on the website. And I have to refund again and again.

Can you please help to resolve these errors?

Thank you for reaching out and posting your concern.

Have you made sure that you uncheck the option " Continue selling when out of stock "?

You could check it by going to the Product section, clicking on the product you want to stop overselling, selecting Add variant section, and deselecting the option " Continue selling when out of stock ".

Yes, It was unchecked. As I rechecked it after receiving the order.

That’s so weird. By default, if you deselect this option, then customers can’t buy the product.

I think this is error appeared on Shopify’s end, please contact the Support team directly to have them check it for you through email or live chat.
